THE HOUSE
La Gañanía, a house with a family soul
Between whitewashed stone walls and wooden ceilings, La Gañanía holds the history of our family since 1894. Over time, we decided to rehabilitate it with the same love with which it was built, and in 1998 we opened its doors to rural tourism.
We were one of the first rural houses on the island, and today we continue to welcome travelers from all over the world to this small corner of Los Realejos, in the north of Tenerife, to share with them the calm, the history and the simple way of life that this house has always had.
The Accommodation
Two houses, one history
At La Gañanía we have rehabilitated two independent spaces that share the same history. Each one preserves the character of the original house, with its own rhythm and charm, and you can book them separately according to the experience you are looking for. OUR HISTORY
More than a century of family history
Here, family memories are intertwined with stories that are also part of the memory of the Canary Islands: working the land, the farewells of those who emigrated, the returns full of emotion and the celebrations that gave meaning to the days.
Our great-grandmother Bárbara turned the central courtyard into a small school where the neighbors learned to read and write. Since then, this house has been a place of meeting, learning and shared life. Today we continue to take care of it with the same affection, open to those who arrive with curiosity, seeking the calm and authenticity of the north of Tenerife.
