SUSTAINABILITY CHARTER
Our commitment to sustainability
The Sustainability Charter is a voluntary commitment by cetacean watching companies and active tourism companies on the island of Tenerife, which offer a meaningful and transformative tourist experience for the client. It is a project conceived in 2018 and took shape in 2020, in the midst of the health crisis derived from COVID-19.
We have been part of the Charter for the Sustainability of Activities in Nature of the Cabildo de Tenerife since November 9, 2022. A voluntary commitment that promotes responsible tourism, respectful of the environment and the local community. We believe that taking care of the house, the landscape and the people is part of our history.
Cetacean Watching
The members of this Sustainability Charter want to promote the will of the cetacean watching sector of Tenerife, to maintain our profession and bequeath a living marine nature to future generations.
We want to contribute, as professionals committed to being the custodians of cetaceans, to promoting Tenerife as a sustainable tourist space that positively impacts the local population and those who visit it. Charter for Sustainability Cetacean Watching (PDF)
Activities in Nature
A participatory project with active tourism companies on the island of Tenerife, whose main objective is to generate a differential offer with values generated from the search for excellence in the provision of services and a broad and transversal sustainability approach. All this from a stable framework of collaborative work at a public-private level.
Decalogue of sustainability and circularity
Our commitment to nature, the community and rural life
At La Gañanía we believe that sustainability is built day by day, through simple gestures and conscious decisions. This decalogue includes the actions that guide our commitment: taking care of water and energy, supporting the local community, reusing materials, protecting nature and promoting a respectful and full stay.
You can read or download the Decalogue of Sustainability and Circularity here, which is part of our commitment to responsible tourism in Los Realejos and throughout Tenerife.
